Wine Review: This ruby colored wine opens with a pleasant boysenberry bouquet. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, nicely balanced, and has a dry mouthfeel. The flavor profile is a ripe boysenberry with a hint of black currant and oak in the background. The finish is very very dry and its substantial mountain tannins that are quite puckery. This wine needs some time for the tannins to settle down, but there is plenty of fruit to be there for the long haul. In the near term, I would pair it with a thick cut of prime rib. Enjoy - Ken

Winemaker Notes: This wine has a heritage and pedigree second to none in the Zinfandel world. Our only question was would the terrior of high mountain Lake County carry it forward? Well the answer is a resounding "Yes!" The wine exhibits wild black cherries, and violets in the bouquet which reflects its red soil and mountain roots. And dark smoky blackberries with hints of Asian spice in the flavors. It’s the perfect wine to enjoy by the lake while a steak sizzles on the grill.
