Wine Review: This classic California styled Chardonnay from Rombauer is terrific! It is golden yellow colored and opens with fragrant butterscotch bouquet with hints of banana. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, slightly acidic and very rich. The flavor profile is a delicious Bosc pear with nicely integrated vanilla oak and hint of butterscotch. The finish is dry and its oak based flavors linger nicely. This wine was a hit with Theresa at our anniversary dinner. It paired perfectly with her gourmet Mac n' Cheese at Grill 23 in Boston. Enjoy - Ken

Winemaker Notes: Golden yellow color with a pale hue. Seductive aromas of peach, melon, and citrus are balanced with honeysuckle and vanilla. On the palate, flavors of pears, peaches and melons are backed with lively acidity. A nice touch of vanilla-scented oak provides an added flavor dimension. The creamy palate has a lingering finish of melon and citrus fruit with a satisfying buttery complexity. Our favorite pairing for this wine includes scallops in a cream sauce, pasta carbonara, chicken risotto and Cornish game hen.
