Wine Review: This very dark ruby colored Charbono from Robert Foley was well liked by all that tried it. It opens with a very fragrant blackberry and black licorice bouquet. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, slightly acidic and juicy. The flavor profile is a blackberry and oak blend with notes of minerality. I also detected hints of black plum. The finish is dry and its dusty tannins linger and last for a very long time. This Charbono would pair well with slow cooked barbecue short ribs. Enjoy - Ken
