Wine Review: This opaque very dark ruby colored blend from Washington is a big boy wine. It opens with a blackberry and black cherry bouquet with hints of oak. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, juicy and very fruit forward. As a matter of fact, its intense ripe fruit flavors fully involve all your taste buds. The flavors are black cherry, black currant, and cola with notes of oak, anise and black pepper. The finish is dry and its moderate dusty tannins stick around for quite a while. This wine would pair well with slow cooked spare ribs. Enjoy - Ken

Winemaker Notes: Mr. Owl’s is made in honor of our Assistant Winemaker, Raul Morfin, who also helped with its blending and tasting notes. A percentage of the wine’s proceeds will go to a charity of Raul’s choosing. The amazing thing about this wine is its Bordeaux character yet it’s 50% Syrah and does not show it. It has a gleaming wonderful color and offers up dark fruits of black cherry, currant and plum on the nose with hints of eucalyptus, licorice and leather. The palate reflects all these flavors and adds black olive, craisins, a little brown spice and a soft-medium tannin grip. Mr. Owl will be a wonderful part of your cellar as he is a wonderful part of our Reininger Family.
