Wine Review: This dark red colored Pinot Noir from Joseph Phelps opens with a blackberry and cranberry bouquet with hints of oak. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, slight acidic and juicy. The flavor profile is a plum and cranberry blend with notes chocolate and oak. I also detected a hint of black pepper and minerality in the end. The finish is dry and its flavors and acidity are slightly prolonged. This Pinot would pair well with pan-roasted chicken with cranberries, mushrooms and demi-glace. Enjoy - Ken

Winemaker Notes: The 2013 Pinot Noir opens with aromatic red cherry and raspberry along with savory spices, fresh cut herbs and floral notes. Expressive red plum, currants and cranberries dominate the palate followed by white pepper and lasting Freestone spice elements. Beautifully textured with balanced acid and tannin leading to a long sweet vanilla finish.
