Wine Review: This very dark purple colored wine opens with an intense blackberry liquor and anise like bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, very nicely balanced, and quite smooth. The flavor profile is a rich and extracted blackberry with notes of boysenberry and black licorice. The finish is very dry and its moderate tannins linger for a bit. This wine is very big and will appeal to port wine lovers. It shows some of its 14.5% alcohol, but it is manageable. Pair it with pieces of thinly sliced of French baguette with stilton cheese and a fig spread on it. Cheers - Ken
