Wine Review: This light straw colored Gruner Veltliner from Gobelsburg is very good. It opens with a green apple and lime bouquet. On the palate, this wine is light bodied and nicely balanced between its acidity and flavors. The flavor profile is a tasty mineral infused lime with hints of grapefruit and white pepper. The finish is dry and its flavors and acidity fade away nicely. The Gruner is very food friendly and would pair nicely with grilled scallops. Enjoy - Ken

Winemaker Notes: Extremely fragrant with whiffs of juicy mirabelle plum and physalis. So seductive and openly expressive with a pleasant filigree touch. Compact yet lively and robust. Fine stone fruit notes. Layers of subtle undertones and a nice racy finish.

Organic status: not organic

Your comments on this wine:

Cork Lore: A cork tree must be at least 25 years old before its bark can be harvested the first time, but it cannot be used for wine stoppers until the third harvest. Cork trees can be stripped of their bark no more than every 9 to 12 years. In one harvest, enough cork is removed from the average tree to make 4,000 wine stoppers.
