Wine Review: This dark ruby colored Pinot Noir from the Green Valley reminds me of a Zinfandel. It opens with cranberry, plum, old oak and spicy black raspberry bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium to full bodied, balanced, juicy and very fruit forward. The flavor profile is an extracted black raspberry and pomegranate blend with notes of plum. I also detected hints of mild minerality, old oak and a touch of Chinese five spice powder behind the fruit. Th finish is dry and its fruit flavors linger and last for quite a while. This Pinot will appeal readers who like extracted wines that exude ripe fruit flavors. I would pair this Pinot with a five-spice duck breast with blackberries. Enjoy - Ken

Winemaker Notes: The deep ruby color excites while the dark cherry and blueberry aromas allure. Digging deeper, tantalizing aromas of toffee and butterscotch from the oak aging are exposed. On the palate, the entry is rich and firm, followed by sweet blueberry compote and mouth coating soft tannins. Continually balanced throughout on its characteristic acid backbone, this wine finishes with rich blueberry and spice, leaving you ready to line up for the ride all over again. Ready to drink now for the fruit-forward-enthusiast, this wine will also continue to gain complexity over the next 10 years.
