Wine Review: This ruby colored Pinot Noir from Dutton Goldfield opens with a red plum bouquet with a hint of strawberry. On the palate, this wine is medium to full bodied, balanced and juicy. The flavor profile is a red plum and strawberry rhubarb blend with hints of mild minerality, oak and a dash of black pepper. The finish is dry and its moderate tannins and flavors drift away nicely. This very food friendly Pinot would pair nicely with grilled pork tenderloin. Enjoy - Ken

Winemaker Notes: The 2014 season gave us the most physiologically ripe grapes we’ve ever seen. The nose is enveloping with its blueberry and blackberry jam notes, highlighted by touches of violets and wisteria, and a light candied caramel quality. In the mouth, the wine is equally rich and decadent, with the berries riding on a wave of satin. Spicy notes of sandalwood and toffee linger on the rich fruit finish. Herb rubbed quail or mushroom risotto would be a great match. As easy as this wine goes down, though, you might not have any left in the bottle by dinner time.
