Wine Review: This Italian blend from Banfi has more of a New World feel vs. the traditional Old World presence that you would expect from a Tuscan wine. It is opaque and very dark purple colored wine opens with a rich black cherry bouquet with integrated smoke and licorice. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced, soft, and expresses its fruit. The flavor profile is a gentle black raspberry with integrated oak and plum. The finish is dry and its easy going tannins are slightly prolonged. This wine is food friendly and should be consumed in the near term. I would pair it with beef bourguignon. Enjoy - Ken

Winemaker Notes: Deep red color, with mild garnet nuances. Very complex aroma on the nose, with spicy hints of tobacco and coffee, as well as fruity notes of blackberry jam. On the palate the structure is powerful, warm and soft, with a pleasant note of vanilla in the end. Enjoyable now yet endowed with great aging potential.
