Wine Review: This dark ruby colored Cab from Avalon opens with an inviting black raspberry bouquet with a hint of black plum. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced, and savory. The flavor profile is a blueberry and mild red currant blend with a hint of oak. The finish is dry and its dusty tannins are a bit sticky. This wine would pair well with a rack of barbecue ribs. Enjoy - Ken

Winemaker Notes: Our 2007 wine exhibits aromas of raspberry, blackberry, mint and black cherries. Vanilla and short bread cookie notes from oak aging bring balance and frame the ripe berry flavors. Napa Valley characteristics show through with strawberries, red raspberries and a faint root beer note with quintessential Oakville dark cherries. The tannins are fine and chalky. Drink our 2007 Avalon Napa Cabernet now or age it for a few years.
