Wine Review: I tend to like these field blend wines and this one is no exception. This fun combo from Acorn is dark ruby colored and opens with a fragrant smoky oak and black currant bouquet with hints of blackberry. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, slightly acidic and fruit forward. The flavor profile is a juicy black currant with integrated old oak and notes of minerality and black raspberry. The finish is dry and its tingly tannins are sticky and linger for quite a while. This wine would pair well with veal marsala. Enjoy – Ken

Winemaker Notes: Lovely aromatics of spicy berry and smoky oak mingle with a delicate floral essence. Luscious juicy flavors of ripe blackberry, dried strawberries, and blueberry wrap around a core of dark plum and cocoa. A touch of baking spices, licorice, and orange essence join the well-integrated flavors as they linger into the finish. Enjoy with duck à l'orange, pork tenderloin with dried cherry, or a cranberry and pecan quinoa pilaf.
