Wine Review: This dark ruby wine hails from vineyards in Mendocino and Sonoma counties. The nose of the wine is quite spicy with notes of blackberry. On the palate, this wine is balanced, a touch racy, and loaded with fruit forward spicy boysenberry and dark chocolate flavors. The finish is dry and shows a touch of heat. This wine paired nicely with my pepper encrusted pork tenderloin at Eastern Standard in Boston. Enjoy – Ken

Winemaker Notes: Juicy and ripe, 2005 Skylark red Belly boasts aromatics of plum, licorice, red raspberry, pomegranate and black peppercorn. With aeration, the palate is ripe and supple, with integrated tannins, an expansive finish and subtle backbeat of white pepper.
