Wine Review: I have been very impressed with the Cru level of Duboeuf’s Beaujolais over the last year or so. This 2006 Morgon continues that tradition of great values and I think is a little better than the 2005. This cloudy red wine opens with a perfumed cherry like bouquet. On the palate, this medium bodied wine is nicely balanced, has good acidity, and has juicy red cherry flavors. The finish is quite dry, has mild tannins, is very lengthy, and had a touch of oak that appears on the end. This is a perfect wine to pair with chicken parmigiana with a marinara sauce. Don't forget to serve this wine slightly chilled. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: The color is a deep garnet red. The nose is very aromatic on the black fruit side, with hints of blackberry, cassis and black cherry, as well as kirsch. In the mouth is an aromatic palette, showing a rich wine that is well structured and complex; good persistence and beautiful harmony. There is good ageing potential with the Morgon.
