Wines from Abruzzo region
[ah-BROOD-dzee] Abruzzi is a very mountainous region located east of Rome on the Adriatic Sea. The main grape variety used for white wines is Trebbiano, but there are other white wine grapes allowed including Bombino Bianco, Pecorino, Malvasia, and Pinot Grigio. Montepulciano is the main red wine grape followed by Sangiovese.
